Tulips

The other day when Michael came home from work he brought me this bouquet of pretty tulips. They have been opening up so beautifully, I wanted to share them with you. :) I love tulips...I have always thought they were such a cheerful flower.
In Canada they are a symbol of friendship and gratitude. After WWII ended Holland sent over 100,000 tulip bulbs in appreciation to Canada's role in liberating them from the Nazis. Also, every year  they still send over 20,000 bulbs as a symbol of thankfulness and friendship. There is a tulip festival held every May at the Capital.
