Shane's Prayer Request

Shane, our nephew who just turned 4, has recently gone through a "personality" growth spurt, or something of that nature. He is so cute.... You never know what he is going to say. :) Last night in church was no exception. During prayer requests he raises his little hand and says, "Please pray for my mouth... it burns because I talk to much." :)

Garden Pictures

I thought I would share some pictures of our "young" garden. People have been asking to see some, so here they are.... :)

PS. The big empty space has 25 potato plants in it.... they are just not big enough to see in the pictures, and the reason for the flags/scare-crows are to hopefully help keep the deer out!! :)

God Is Good...

It has been a long time since I've posted on here, I guess I kinda went through a bit of a "blog strike." It's been a little crazy around here with everything that's been happening to Michael, so many summer projects we wanted to do put on hold because of that, and then trying to find a better job because the company Michael works for is getting so ridiculous.....
Through it all though God has helped us and even though we don't know why, we know He has a reason and a purpose!! We are so blessed compared to so many out there who have lost everything in the earthquakes, tornadoes, etc. God is good!!
I know this song has been going around, and most of the time I don't post stuff that is posted everywhere, but this song has truly helped keep things in focus lately....

Pineapple Fluff

So....here I am again, wanting to share one of my favorite recipes with you....Especially with all the warm, sunny weather around these days it becomes even more of a favorite. { Michael loves this recipe too...probably even more then I do.} It is so refreshing on a hot day, and the best part about it is that it's so easy!!

Pineapple Fluff

8oz. Cream Cheese
1c. Sugar (divided)
1 can of Crushed Pineapple (not the huge can)
12oz. Cool Whip
1c Pretzels
1 stick of Butter

Whip cream cheese and 1/2c of sugar{could leave out sugar if you didn't want if very sweet}, fold in cool whip. Drain pineapple and mix in.

Coarly crush pretzels, mix pretzels, sugar and butter.
Press into 9x13 pan, bake @ 400 for 7 min.
Cool - break into chuncks.
Mix pretzles in right before serving.

Enjoy!  :)

The Prime Minister

I am afraid I am way out of touch when it comes to Canadian politics, but not totally out of touch. :) Yesterday was the Prime Ministerial elections and Stephen Harper was reelected. This elections has historical significance....It is only the third time in Canadian history that the Conservatives have won three successive elections and the first time the Conservatives have won a majority since 1988.
In 2004 Stephen Harper helped unit two Conservative parties into one, making their forces stronger. Then in 2006 He was elected Prime Minister, but up until now has been running the country with "his hands tied" because his party has been the minority. Hopefully then next four years will be good ones, as from what I hear, he has done a descent job and getting the country through this recession. Maybe now he will have power to make some good changes.....
