Above is the link to a very powerful story of the pilot who was to be flying flight 11 that horrific September 11th. For whatever reason I could not post the video here off of YouTube. I would strongly suggest watching it. It is very powerful and worth your time!

The Rearranged Living Room
We were desperately needing more seating in our living room, other than what we had... Just a couch. We don't have much space, so the chairs needed to be small, no "big grandpa" recliners, etc. {Although they are extremely comfy.:)} We got these chairs for free, and even though the color is not amazing(they do fit in rather well...), they are in really good condition, and the perfect size. I had quite a time trying to rearrange everything, but I think I got it. :) It feels much more cozy in here....
Also, I got a little desk {Thank you Mama for swapping with me!} in the kitchen to put our computer on, and have a little "work" space. I love it! :)

Muffin Toots-Wiggs (AKA: Muffy) :)
We have had our kitten for 4 weeks now. She is getting bigger and lots of fun. Her personality is really starting to show. I thought I would post some recent pictures.

Old Things, New Projects
Every so often I get this strong urge or desire to do something crafty. There is not always lots of $$ to be running out and buying stuff, so generally I try to find something I already have that I can redo, change, switch around, etc. This is the results of my crafty urge. :)......
I took this flower arrangement apart .....
And made this swag to go over the mirror.....
I took a bunch of roses Michael had given me while dating that I had dried and made this arrangement....
PS. A random bit of information....The book you see is a Bible that was my great, great grandmothers.

A "Catch-All" Post.
I just wanted to quickly write a random update post. Most of this has already been said on FB, but I know I have dear family & friends who can not see what I post on there... so this is for you. :)
I finally received a letter from Homeland Security with a place, date, and time to have my fingerprinting done ~ Sept. 14th. {Seems so far away, but at least we have the date!} The other good news is, I only have to go about 45min. away to the city of Durham.
The other update is that come September I will be teaching piano lessons again! :) Just one student at this time, but that is a start. I can't really advertise until my paperwork is done because I can't work yet, so have to teach for free. I don't mind doing one or two... but don't really want a bunch if that's the case.
Until later......Kimb

Christmas in August!
I was very happy today to pick up this free tree off of Craig's List...not to mention several strands of working mini lights and some other decorations!! I wanted to post some pictures of it....note, I did not take time to fluff the branches perfectly, just enough to get the jist of what the tree would look like. I know some people think I'm a Christmas freek, but one of the trees we have is kind of a "Charlie Brown" so I thought we could replace it.... or... I don't know if you can ever have to many trees......:)
PS: Michael is so sweet to put up with my mess! :)

*Easy, Yummy, Blueberry Muffins*
I found this recipe a while back and have made it several times....Each time it turns out perfect, and the best thing is that it is simple & fast. {Not to mention, yummy. :)}
~Muffins~
2C. Flour
1C. Sugar
1TBS. Baking Powder
1/2tsp. Salt
1C. Butter Milk *
1TBS Lemon Juice
1C. Berries {I have been using frozen blueberries, but the recipe originally called for raspberries. So, whatever you like best. } Mix the berries in after mixing everything else together.
*I don't usually have butter milk on hand, so I take and put 2TBS of vinegar in the 1C measure and then fill it up with milk, let it sit for a couple minutes, and that works.
Bake @ 350 for about 20 min. Makes 1 dozen.
~Glaze~
1C. Powdered Sugar
4tsp. Warm Water
1/2 tsp Vanilla
